Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Lands in U.S.

That’s right. While the rest of the world has grown almost weary of the Xperia X10’s Android 1.6ness, the phone is just being introduced in U.S.

Since this was a new launch and that too in U.S., many Sony Ericsson’s fans expected the phone to finally get the much needed update to Android 2.1. Sadly, they have been disappointed by the company, which seems to be facing major issues with modding its addons to suit Android 2.1. That brings us to another issue. Will the Xperia ever get Android 2.2? Will they jump directly to Froyo or worse? Will they ever update the phone?

Anyway, the X10 has arrived on the AT&T network and boasts of the same features that once awed us all. Remember the mediascape and timescape leak videos back in 2009? The phone would be available starting August 15 and will cost $149.99 if you opt for it with a 2-year plan.

Let us again recap the features of the phone which no doubt are awe inspiring. It starts with the impressive 4-inch screen and then moves on to the 1GHz с processor and ends at the 8.1 megapixel camera (with LED flash). Other bits include 8GB of memory and GPS support. No doubt, the phone is right up there when it comes to the hardware bit but our point of contention is Android 1.6 again which is simply too outdated.
